According to findings made by the study ‘The State of Deepfakes’, developed by the security firm Deep TraceCont, pornographic content accounts for 96% of all deepfake videos that are on the Internet.
According to the survey published by Deep TraceCont – a company specializing in tracking materials of the type created with artificial intelligence to protect the reputation of victims – there are currently 14,678 videos that falsify the identity of the characters in some way. The technique has already been used for videos in which the former president of the United States, Barack Obama, appears cursing the current Donald Trump, as well as pornographic montages with actresses Gal Gadot and Emma Watson, for example. In pornography, deepfakes accumulate more than 134 million views on adult sites — of the ten largest porn portals, eight bring content with deepfakes. Most of the material, however, is hosted on nine sites dedicated exclusively to deepfakes.

The most common and prevalent in pornographic videos is the faceswap, which replaces someone’s face with another, usually a famous person. THE lipsync, on the other hand, is more present in satire videos and does not involve face swapping, but interferes with the way the subject’s mouth moves to make it appear as if he is saying something different than in the original video. There is still the deepnude, a modification that makes a person’s clothes disappear and creates a fake video of them completely naked. The difference to faceswap is that instead of transplanting the face onto someone else, the victim’s own body is changed by the software.
Female celebrities are the biggest victims of deepfake:
Entertainment stars are victims of 99% of videos with porn content and 81% of other types of deepfake distributed online. The champion of appearances is a British actress who accumulates 257 different videos and 5.8 million views. Second place is a South Korean music artist whose face appears in 127 adult videos. The Deep Trace study does not name the victims. In the case of the Israeli actress who appears in eighth place, it is easy to conclude that the victim is Gal Gadot, known for playing Wonder Woman and who has become one of the most famous cases of deepfake.

In Xvideos there are 399 videos with the tag ‘deepfake’, among the celebrities found are Ariana Grande, Emma Watson, Scarlett Johansson and Selena Gomez. On Pornhub, the term is banned from the platform.
