ASMR – Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response – is the term used to describe the pleasant sensation caused by some sensory experience. If it causes good feelings, the technique could even cause an orgasm and that is exactly why pornographic models and actresses have used this technique, before just content, now an excellent source of income.
It is quite possible that the forerunner of this ASMR movement in porn is Emanuelly Raquel, 29, who has around 65,000 subscribers on her Pornhub channel. “I found out about ASMR about three years ago looking for videos to relax. As I loved that, I wanted to do it too and started my YouTube channel a year ago”. Before that, Emanuelly already had her channels on adult platforms, “she was a cam girl at the time”, she explains. Before that, the porn influencer was only dedicated to the real estate business, an area she still works in, but with less dedication.
Emanuelly’s channel on Pornhub has around 55 million views and 100,000 fans, in addition to a YouTube channel with 117,000 subscribers. On social media, she has more than 212,000 followers. The “porn influencer” says her work is well accepted on the internet. “My close friends and family know that I do porn, and that’s okay. I’ve been getting great acceptance on all platforms. I get few sexist messages, most are funny. Contrary to what would be natural to imagine, the comments are affectionate and come from men and women”.
Maru Karv is another standout in ASMR porn. Thaís, 26, lives in Curitiba and has had a YouTube channel dedicated to the topic since November 2018. She went on to make porn ASMR videos on her Pornhub profile. “I’ve always loved ASMR, I met Emanuelly, we talked and she and my husband encouraged me to start my videos”, she says. Before that, Maru was a housewife and, when her husband became unemployed, she saw being a cam girl as an opportunity to maintain the family’s income. “I went for 2 and a half years, but since I started the channels I stopped broadcasting. It was no longer what I wanted.”
Maru started with videos because she and her husband, Phillipe Karv, already enjoyed making home recordings. “Six years ago, when we met, I wasn’t working and he lost his job, so we saw that we could earn money by uploading the videos we already liked to make. We have a very active, fun sex life and I’ve always had a very open mind about it, “she says.
With the positive response from the public that used to watch the couple’s videos, Maru increased the number of publications on his channels. On Youtube she has 49,012 subscribers and on Pornhub she has 191,000 followers and 50 million views.
Growing ASMR market: the number of videos in this category has been growing more and more on the biggest adult content platforms. There are 3,000 videos on Pornhub, 1,229 on XVideos and 922 on RedTube.
