HOW BAD IS PORN
More and more voices are shouting at the sky that porn is to blame for all the evils of our society, holding porn responsible for the “increase” in sexual aggressions and for young people “to be educated” by watching porn scenes… but the moderately serious studies that have been done on the case disagree thoroughly… in fact, in the West there has been a decline in sexual crimes since it is so easy to access pornographic content (source)… So why It seems that every day there are more sexual aggressions? Well, it is not that there are more, but that the media have more impact on this type of news, creating alarm and generating more fear, and partially it is because that “fear” makes people stay tuned to watch more “fearful” news.
Neither porn generates more sexual aggressions nor videogames more violence, what happens is that since videogames are focused on the “young” and now the “young” have easy access to pornographic content, the ideal cultivation field is created so that the media can generate social alarm and this is used by abolitionists and their desire to eradicate prostitution, porn and everything that has to do with sexuality.
But with the eradication of porn the same thing will happen as with the no-alcohol laws, the prohibition of pornography will just promote its consumption in secret and in the end nothing will be solved, the problem will just be renewed and some politicians will try to get a slice of it.
