Aloha, I’m Thamires Aurea but I prefer to be called Angel. Musician, model, dancer, writer, artisan, student of the mysteries of life. I love a conspiracy. Laughter!
Why did you decide to start working on your sensual side?
I’ve always seen photos on Tumblr of sensual shoots by women, in an elegant, conceptual way. This aroused the interest of seeing myself from another point of view, and, facing myself naked, it was from there that my perception of beauty began to transform, because until then, it was extremely influenced by “beauty pattern”.
Angel, do you think that in Brazil there is still a lot of prejudice against those who do sensual shoots?
I am absolutely sure that yes, in fact not only in Brazil, in the whole world. The woman is already judged simply for being born a woman, unfortunately this still happens in the middle of the 21st century. When we are exposed to doing work like this, which carries a tremendous taboo, most people do not have the maturity to interpret the work of art that is a sensual essay.
What was it like taking the photos for the shoot?
It was a unique experience, but extremely impactful on mine. I was a little shy during the rehearsal, after all, it was my first time, and when I went to see the result I loved everything but the model. Because I’m in a phase of self-acceptance, and the compliments I received when I published the essay helped me to have another perspective of my own body.
How is the relationship with your followers on Instagram?
They interact a lot with me, I can’t even handle answering everyone, I even feel bad about it, out of nowhere people want to know what I’m doing, where, with whom, why. This is super new and a little scary for me, but I’m learning to relate to them, giving them the attention they deserve.
